Coffee houses have become the great meeting places of America, and one of the best in Ojai is the Ojai Coffee Roasting Co. Since 1995 owner, Stacey Gerin, has been serving up delicious coffee made from Arabica beans that she roasts right on site in an embracing “meet friendly” environment. Necessity being the mother of invention, when Stacey ran out of one bean in her test kitchen, she combined it with another and, voila, her signature Topa Topa blend was born. She has also branched out to mail order so coffee lovers across America can enjoy two pounds of her fresh, in-house roasts each month via her Coffee Club.
BUT, Ojai Coffee Roasting Co. is not only a great meeting place, but a great eating place.

Opening daily at 5:30 a.m., Ojai Coffee Roasting Co. offers bagels and baked goods from local bakers before the kitchen opens at 10:00 a.m., plus other drink delights such as homemade chai and cold brew beverages.

How about other food choices? Breakfast coffee “companions” include a lox & bagel platter, yogurt parfaits, fruit cups and oatmeal, all “made from scratch” in-house, as are all the items on its lunch menu of salads and sandwiches. Try Stacey’s “Messy Pita” invention: grilled turkey, onion, tomato, wrapped in a warm pita with spring mix, homemade tzatziki dressing & topped with feta cheese… or her Caprese sandwich served on toasty ciabatta bread with tomato, melted mozzarella, Kalamata olives, fresh basil, dressed with pesto and a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette.

At Taste of Ojai, take a meeting at Ojai Coffee Roasting Co.’s table where you can munch on a locally made macaroon as you sip one of Stacey’s cold brew beverages including her “simply cold brew,” iced lattes, iced mochas and other flavor options, including a Fall favorite, pumpkin spice.
