Nestled in the heart of Ojai’s historic Arcade you’ll find Osteria Monte Grappa (OMG), named for a mountain in Italy. This go-to restaurant offers delicious Italian cuisine (of course), though owners, Tammy and Stefano Bernardi prefer calling their food “Ojai Cuisine” because its menu is adapted seasonally to use produce locally grown in the Ojai Valley.  Either way, mangia!

Opened in 2009 soon after the Bernardis moved to Ojai to raise their family, their inspiration for the OMG fare came from their roots in Northern Veneto, at the foothills of the Dolomites.

From starters to soups to salads, the ingredients are organic and fresh. House-made pastas are tossed in house-made sauces.  Pastas and entrees are made with fresh produce, fresh wild caught fish and responsibly farmed Baja California clams and oysters, or wild spot prawns fresh from the Santa Barbara Channel (when in season).  For meat and poultry lovers, there are bone-in pork chops, fresh tenderloin steaks, as well as a variety of chicken and duck entrees to choose from.

Want something more crusty-rustic?  Try one of the ‘to die for’ panini or sandwiches… and, oh my… those flatbread pizzas that come out of OMG’s wood burning oven!!!

Not to be over-shadowed by the tasty food, the folks at OMG’s full bar make a great martini and other cocktails, and serve up some delicious wines.

To quote the Bernardis:  “It is our mission to create an approachable, unique and healthy environment for you to come and enjoy.”

Whether you’re dining in the bright, “farmhouse-style” interior, or outside on the lovely courtyard patio, OMG doesn’t disappoint.  As you go from booth to booth at Taste of Ojai, do not miss a single taste at Osteria Monte Grappa. Mangia!
